SK Gaming and Nihilium: The Greatest Conspiracy Plot to Ever Unfold

Many gamers (not just WoW players) are aware of two of the most dominant names in professional E-Sports today: SK-Gaming and Nihilum. Let me say that I’ve known about SK for many years when they were the top Counterstrike teams in the world. Likewise, I also know about Nihilum’s illustrious history along with mousesports. As such, I have nothing but the highest respect any gamer can have like a son to a father.

Although after reading the following post, my faith has wavered slightly.

An interview is conducted on World of Ming with a former professional Warcraft 3 player named Bey (not going to try to use the funky B in case it screws up a few things). His earnings are reported to be over 35000$ after playing more than 700 games in over a year.

In any case, the first part of the interview is mostly background information. Bey, the player in question, is establishing the fact top tier players establish and cultivate relationships not unlike how top tier raiding guilds on servers have their own alliances and relationships.

It gets a lot more interesting towards the second half of the interview when Bey begins talking about SK Gaming’s and Nihilum’s practices.

He states that Schroet Kommando is an extreme right organization. Here’s a few select quotes:

?ey: My sources told me that after the recruitment, they start to slowly modify the person’s way of thinking with all sort of tricks and manipulative discussions evolved around the gaming training sessions. There are also some weird occult rituals and gatherings with occult implications, but that’s where my sources stopped sharing with me, so I couldn’t find out more about it.

I suppose that this did not include normal team building exercises like mountain climbing or playing street hockey together. Since it’s in Europe, they might bond better playing soccer.

Let’s hit the nail harder on the head, shall we?

?ey: The information I have is 100% secure and bulletproof, beyond any level of doubt. So, basically what we know about SK is that their leaders are Nazi extremists, and that they don’t want us to know this, and that their logo had is based on a modified version of the swastika.

Oh, so that’s what extreme right means. I get it now. Hold on a sec, it turns out SK’s not alone anymore.

?ey: Mousesports is another German gaming organisation that shares the NAZI viewpoints of SK. Somehow even more, considering that their crown jewel is Nihilum, a guild that is made only from German, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian people, and especially because of NAZI aryan beliefs. I personally know lots of insanely good players that’s knocked at Nihilum’s door and were turned down because of racial reasons, even if they were perfectly geared and capable of filling the spot required. This was not made public of course, but that was the true reason behind it.

At least it’s nice to know that if I had applied to Nihilum I would not have been turned down because I sucked. On a more serious note, these are some really serious allegations. Bey’s just accused two of the top gaming organizations in the world that they are Nazis.

How would they have enforced their e-dominance?

?ey: The plan was simple and extremely effective, and was needed because both SK and MS wanted to control what was happening in other Bgs – they were scared to death that an outsider EU team may sweep them at Blizzcon or other tourneys (which ended up actually happening)…

…These things were backed up with whispers like “words are that SK and MS pay weekly big money to anybody that is on the 1st page of the Cyclone BG in 2v2 and 3v3.” As well as stuff like “I heard that that team was 16th last week and got paid 200 Euros to each member”.

To bottom line it:

?ey: The truth is that SK and MS payed all the first 20 teams (the ones that were on Cyclone BEFORE the hype), to queue dodge the new powerful wave of teams and to share information to all teams about the new players and their comps.

All I can say is just wow. I’m utterly amazed. I don’t even know if something like this can be made up. I don’t but it, however. There’s no empirical evidence for such an accusation and it’s still really hard to prove. How do you prove something like this anyway? You almost can’t! It’s hard!

Remember, here’s the link to the full text interview for you to read in full.

This just about rivals the DnT drama story several months ago. Anyway, I wanted to share that little story for you. What a way to open up the week, eh?

So what are your thoughts?

Load of crap or a potential eyebrow raiser and jaw dropper?

Conspiracy drama stories are simply the best!

  1. Load of crap.

Just becouse you are elitist doesn’t mean that you are a nazi. And this story sounds more and more like someone had their guild application turned down, “and since I have brown eyes/blue hair/two left feet” they must be racists.

I really like reading your blogg, Matticus. But writing about this without there beeing any kind of proof…

That made me lose a little of my respect for you.

  2. And the Moon landing was just a hoax and there’s been aliens crashing on Earth but the government’s just keeping it a secret.
In short: this is another conspiracy theory to laugh about. And you did it very elegently in this post. Thank’s for that.

I must say that find it a bit offending though that they’re half suspected of being nazi just because they’ve got a Swedish GM… That isn’t even funny. It’s just plain stupid.

  3. Let the flaming commence!…… just kidding!

On a serious note, I have my suspicions about this, because it just seems to reek of rotten grapes. Admittedly, I know very little of the professional gaming community, but the feeling I get is that Bey simply is looking for some attention.

If it is true, while I find neo-Nazism to be totally repugnant, and discrimination on the basis of political affiliation and race to be even more disgusting, their politics are their own business. It isn’t really an issue what they believe, if they don’t mention it in game or push it. Their alleged discriminatory recruitment is a concern though.

At any rate, the response from SK Gaming and Nihilum will be interesting to see, if they do have one!

I totally agree here, same for the German part. It happens so often that people are blamed being Nazi just because of their nationality – how open-minded and tolerant is that.
    Leaves me frustrated and sad…

I would also asume that Bey is looking for attention and/or bad publicity for the mentioned professional gaming communities. I cannot imagine this to be true. Not at all.

  5. I am jumping on the BS train. I have often heard obscure theories in the official forums trying to figure out why EU raiding guilds are on top of their game. I thought the theory of Europeans all being unemployed and lazy, carried through life on the taxes of good US citizens was the worst reasoning I ever saw, but Bey’s diatribes might take the cake.

  6. IF Bey is incorrect he may be staring at a very large lawsuit of some kind.

If he is correct the Nazis may just kill him for being right. If he is correct, why are the Nazis taking over the world (of warcraft)? Are there any real world implications for this ‘secret’ Nazi operation?

This may or may not be one of the greatest publicity stunts ever pulled off as well 😉

  7. I have a really hard time beleaving it. The primary reason is why are we finding out about it just now?

Most organizations have a really hard time keeping secrets. Secrets that form the very core of an organization are even harder to keep secret because every member must know them. Nihilum has been around for years. Yes there have been some charges of sexism but I don’t remember seeing any of racism. Also remember that SK gaming is the old Curse guild that got a sponcer. Are you telling me that they shared philosophies and were able to merge?

It all seems very unlikely to me because we would have heard other things. Think about the number of members both organizations have had, and how many have left the guilds. This this were true we would have heard a lot more.

  8. Well, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they use unconventional methods or even possibly “unethical” ones. But those are serious allegations to be made without hard corroborating evidence/sources. Without annything to support it, it just ends up sounding like a conspiracy nutjob. Those on the top wear the biggest targets.

  9. Hey Headinclouds?

I did link my “proof” a few times. If you want to lose what little respect you had for me, that’s fine. I’m just linking a story that I read somewhere else and leaving it up to you to come to your own conclusion, okay?

This is like the fifth time someone’s written on my own blog saying they’ve lost respect for me for something I didn’t exactly come up with. I am not a journalist. I’m not obligated in anyway to report the absolute truth. If I find an interesting story on a blog or the web somewhere whether its the NY Times or Jack’s Musings, I’m going to post it on my blog because I find it interesting and everyone loves a good conspiracy theory.

I must be doing something right!

Generally, the burden of proof is on the accuser. If his sources are so bulletproof, he’d do well to back up his assertions with something more than conspiracy theories.

  12. Unlikely, but plausible. I would say that cults and organized extremists would have a lot of traits that if applied to an MMO Guild would make them incredibly successful. It’s not a stretch to think that some creative person would also see it as a way of recruiting new members.

Still — it borders on the ridiculous that BOTH top EU raiding guilds both fall in this category. But who knows?

  13. I was under the impression that SK was just a renamed Curse for the most part. And I hadn’t heard anything about this from anywhere and I have been around since release. I call SHENANIGANS!
