Voidreaver down

The guy’s a pussy. Heal through the poundings and everything will be okay. Guild first for us. NOW we’re ready to try SSC again. Definitely will have several bosses down by the end of August.

[item]Girdle of Zaetar[/item] – Crappy leather healing belt. Went to the Druid OT.
[item]Pauldrons of the Vanquished Champion[/item] – T5 shoulders went to the Shaman.
[item]Pauldrons of the Vanquished Hero[/item] – Hunter won these ones.

Magtheri-DOWN!

Yay, after about two hours, and a server reset, we finally got Mag down! I’ve taken down dragons, ogres’, ghosts, wizards, demons, and such. But the thing that was keeping us from killing this guy was clicking on stupid cubes. Once we clicked, we clicked and he went down easy. Except it wasn’t easy as we lost a shaman early on during phase 2 and ended up being short handed the majority of the encounter. Oh well! Not like she did anything important anyway (kidding!). Onwards to Voidreaver and Hydross!

LOOT:

[item]Chestguard of the Fallen Defender[/item]
[item]Cloak of the Pit Stalker[/item]
[item]Eredar Wand of Obliteration[/item]
[item]Chestguard of the Fallen Champion[/item]

and of course, Mag’s head which doesn’t seem to parse properly with item stats. Alas!

Competitive Arena? Yessir!

I’ve always loved competition. When Starcraft first came out, I rode the ladder to an above 500 placing. Counterstrike saw me peak at CAL-M. Me and the rest of the guys played Guild Wars hard until we got the damned guild sigil. In WoW it was just doing various battlegrounds to get honor for gear for fun. Now with organizations like WSVG and CGS offering serious cash prizes, gaming just became that much more lucrative. Heck, the Championship Gaming Series is an actual league with six regional teams around the United States. Each franchise has it’s own general manager. Each player is then drafted and then paid a salary between $30000 – $100000 per year. That’s just the base salary. It does not include the winnings which they receive from tournaments (and can be very high). The WSVG picked up WoW’s arena format and CGS is expected to follow suit. I don’t feel any loyalty to my current guild. It does not appear to be very active in terms of PvE content after the departure of three active and important players. Heck, last week I missed Karazhan (but to be fair, I did have a midterm exam today and most of my time was spent preparing for that).

It seems what I will do eventually is bench my overpowered priest in favour of my underpowered shaman. I want to bring additional versatility to the table instead of outright heals. A shaman can offer heals, damage, and interrupts if necessary. Unfortunately, it doesn’t possess a whole lot of CC. What am I going to do, earthbind + frostshock and run? You’re pretty damn isolated in Arena, I found out. I played a few Arena 2v2’s with a friend and after going 12 straight losses (he’s a FRESH 70 without any gear), we finally earned our first victory. Yes, I died, but it’s still a team effort. I took the fall so my partner could kick ass :D! Warlocks are truly OP.

I seem to be a curse on teams I join

It seems as if the various Guilds and organizations I’ve joined in WoW seem to fold every time I leave. Micro split after I stopped PvP’ing on Twisting Nether. Illuminati had already broken up by the time I switched servers from Demon Soul to Ner’zuhl. Angelic Advocates was dying to begin with. I left that, and they fell weeks later. The same night I left Aurora (yesterday), it too crumbled and is now in the process of being reformed.

I cannot possibly imagine how so much real life and personal life BS makes it’s way into the game. WoW is just that: a game. Yet for some reason, people seem inclined to bring their own baggage. Regardless, I left Aurora because I felt like it’s time for me to embrace a new challenge. I helped recruit new players both on and off server into the guild and helped mold it to what it is now. The guild will survive but I won’t be involved. I’m looking to join Carnage. They’ve gotten Gruul down two weeks ago and have completely cleared Karazhan. For comparison, Aurora got Gruul down to about 40% and Karazhan was 7/9 (Netherspite and Nightbane were left).

O WELLZ!
